Join other like-minded individuals, to complete your DofE expedition programme! Our friendly leaders will support you on your adventure and at each stage of your expedition!
How does an open expedition work?
Our open DofE expeditions are offered as a package, so includes training, practice and qualifying expeditions. Also, you’ll have access to our stoves and tents helping to remove the expense from your Duke of Edinburgh’s expedition.
When you book your open expedition, we will send you a welcome pack. This will contain all the information that you need to make your expedition a success, including a kit list, tips for success, and information about the programme.
You will travel to the expedition area, the day before your programme starts. On day one, you will meet your leader and your group. Each level of the programme has a different length. You will learn all the skills that you require to plan and undertake the expedition.
Do I need to walk?
No, you don’t! We are delighted to offer both walking and canoe based expeditions. So if you’d like to try something completely new, you can sign up for our canoeing expeditions. Please note that a canoe expedition requires more training before you attend a canoe expedition you will need to complete a training weekend. On this weekend, you will develop the skills that you need to load your boat, paddle your boat, and rescue yourself or others. More information about these training weekends is available below.
